Monday means “day of the moon”. It’s said to be the day where we’re dealing with moods, intuition, and emotions. The moon has been used as a symbol for a woman or a mother and is thought to represent balance, clarity, reflection, creativity, and wisdom. This blog was created to encompass each of these things.
My name is Gillie Snow Hernandez. I’m a full-time employee, a wife, a mom, a drinker of wine, infrequent yogi, animal lover and a firm believer in strong eyebrows and a sense of humor. The overall focus of this website is mindfulness, balance, self-care, motherhood and mental health with the occasional lifestyle article for inspiration.
I’m not an expert in any of these things, but I’ve dealt with anxiety and depression since I was young. Managing my own mental health became much harder after becoming a mom. It’s something I’ve spoken about openly in various settings, even on social media and with colleagues. Over the last couple of years, I’ve been asked by people if they could share that I have anxiety with someone else who is struggling or if I would be willing to talk with them and I always say yes. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our world. I founded Monday Moon with a mission to help others who might feel the same way and I have been at it ever since. Let’s end the stigma and support each other by talking openly and positively.
